Notion Integration

Connect Skribra to your Notion workspace to automatically publish AI-generated articles directly to your Notion databases.

Prerequisites#

Before connecting, you need:

  • A Notion account with access to at least one workspace
  • A Notion database where articles will be published (or you can create one)

Step 1: Connect Your Notion Workspace#

Navigate to Project Settings → Integrations in your Skribra dashboard.

  1. Click "Connect Notion"
  2. You'll be redirected to Notion's authorization page
  3. Select the workspace you want to connect
  4. Click "Allow access"
  5. You'll be redirected back to the app automatically

Step 2: Select a Database#

After connecting, you'll see a list of databases from your Notion workspace.

  • The system will automatically suggest the best database (looks for databases with names like "Blog", "Posts", "Articles")
  • If the suggestion is correct, click "Use this database"
  • Or browse the list and select a different database
  • Click "Select" to confirm

Tip: Your Notion database should have at least a Title property (this is required).

Step 3: Map Your Properties#

The system will automatically detect and map your database properties:

Article FieldNotion Property TypeDescription
TitlerequiredTitleThe article title
SlugoptionalTextURL-friendly version of title
Publish DateoptionalDateWhen the article was published
Featured ImageoptionalFilesThe article's main image
  1. Review the suggested mappings
  2. Adjust if needed by selecting different properties
  3. Click "Save"

Step 4: Test the Connection#

  1. Click "Test Connection" to verify everything works
  2. If successful, you'll see a confirmation message
  3. If it fails, try disconnecting and reconnecting

Publishing Articles#

Once connected, articles will automatically publish to your Notion database when they reach Published status.

What gets published:

  • Article title
  • Full article content (headings, paragraphs, lists, images, tables, videos)
  • Slug (if mapped)
  • Publish date (if mapped)
  • Featured image (if mapped)

Note: If an article with the same title already exists in your Notion database, it will be updated instead of creating a duplicate.

Disconnecting#

To disconnect Notion:

  1. Go to Project Settings → Integrations
  2. Click "Disconnect Notion"
  3. Confirm the action

This removes the connection but does not delete any articles already published to Notion.

Troubleshooting#

No Databases Found

  • Make sure you gave access to at least one database when connecting
  • In Notion's authorization page, select specific databases to share with Skribra

Connection Failed

  • Disconnect and reconnect your Notion account
  • Ensure you have the necessary permissions in your Notion workspace

Missing Title Property

  • Your database needs a Title-type property
  • Every Notion database has a Title property by default — make sure it hasn't been removed

Article Not Appearing

  • Check that the article status is "Published"
  • Verify the database mapping is still active in your settings
  • Try refreshing your Notion page
